I will strive to advance Housing and Home Ownership by implementing the following measures:
- Access to Superannuation contributions.
- Abolish Stamp Duty and Land Tax on homes, or at the very least, consider a substantial reduction in these taxes.
- Boosting the rate of Commonwealth Rent Assistance.
- Improving Housing Affordability by increasing land availability and the reduction of bureaucratic obstacles, which will help to boost supply and decrease costs.
- Addressing the financial difficulties encountered by Seniors aged 55 and above who wish to downsize their home by doubling the Assets Test Exemption. Additionally, seniors will be exempt from paying stamp duty and land tax on the proceeds from the sale and purchase of their primary residence.
- Ensure a minimum 40% Affordable Housing is integrated into new significant residential developments through a process of inclusionary zoning.
- Increase state taxes on Future Foreign Purchases of residential and commercial land/property.
