Achieving equality for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities is essential for building a fair and inclusive society. By acknowledging their unique heritage and addressing historical injustices, together we can build a future where everyone has the opportunity to succeed.
I wholeheartedly believe that every person is created in the image of God. No matter our skin colour, background, faith, or social status, whether we are male or female we are all equal. We all have the freedom to embrace a life filled with respect, love, peace, and equality.
I will passionately support and promote the following initiatives with great determination:
- Actively engage in addressing the mental health and suicide prevention needs that effectively serve the requirements of various population groups, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander People.
- Encourage and support First Nations peoples to assume leadership positions.
- Encourage governmental support, build strategic partnerships, and community-led primary care initiatives to implement strategies that focus on the physical, emotional, and cultural well-being of First Nations Peoples.
- Boost investment in Indigenous Ranger Programs, we can harness a wealth of traditional knowledge accumulated over thousands of years, while also establishing sustainable job opportunities that serve the interests of both the community and the environment.
- Support the development of stronger legislation aimed at protecting the knowledge, cultural heritage, and intellectual property of First Nations Communities.
